Living in the same region as I, she certainly knows the struggles of constant traveling and working outside the major markets. One thing I see in this beautiful lady is her passion and knowledge of how to really work in this crazy industry.
Around the time I met her, she was harboring a pretty big amazing secret. She was able to score an awesome featured role on a MAJOR network highly rated TV Show.
Since then she has been sought out by tons of independent artists looking to cast her her in their next film. She also has been traveling and attending several comic conventions because of her appearance on that BIG TV SHOW. To say she is busy is an understatement. I was so grateful to be able to be in touch with her over social media as she humbly accepted to do this interview with me.
Check out this clip from the Walking Dead. If you are a huge fan you might remember this intense scene where we lost a beloved character. (RIP BETH) But you will clearly be able to see Amber on the left behind Dawn ( The Head Female Cop).

Changing hair-colors is a marketable change that helps distinguish an actors brand and can help make them look more castable.
I really love her head-shot!!
How did you get started in Acting?
I got started in the industry back in 2009. I saw a random ad online that One Tree Hill was looking for background extras at the time. It was filming a few hours from where I live so I applied just for fun. I fell in love with the industry after working on that show 6 times. I worked as an extra off and on in my spare time for the next 5 years, but I wanted to do it full-time. When I was finally able to go for it in 2014, I took acting workshops and started auditioning for speaking roles as well.
You appeared in Season 5 of The Walking Dead as a featured character. This was just over two years ago. You now have such a strong Social Media Presence and following with over 32 credits according to IMDb. Are you finding it easier to obtain more stable work?
After the Walking Dead aired, I have found it easier to obtain work in some ways. I have had quite a few indie filmmakers approach me about being in their projects following my episodes. Although, nothing in this business is stable. I have kept busy for the most part, but there are slow times as well.
Do you currently train professionally for acting? If so who do you train with?
I do take classes and workshops when I have the time. I feel like I have to always keep learning and working on my craft. I have trained with Erica Dunton, Lee Armstrong, and C & J Casting in the past to name a few. Right now I am doing the online masterclass with Dustin Hoffman video series since I am too busy to go to a regular class at the moment.
What projects are you currently working on that you are able to share with us?
Right now, I am filming on a project called Edge of Darkness: Full Circle. It is a vampire thriller. I play the lead of Crystal. Tarnished Notes was just released on Itunes, Google play, and amazon recently. I had a small speaking role in that as Brenda. Also, the Haunting of four Points is in Post-Production and should be out before the end of the year. I play the lead role of Evie in that one. I have a few other Feature Films in the works that are supposed to film later this year as well.
Everyone starts somewhere! For me, it was being a background extra. It is a great way to test out if you will enjoy working long hours on a set. But my best advice would be to learn as much as you can and keep at it. There are plenty of casting websites out there, but the main ones I use are Actors Access, 800Casting, and the Southern Casting Call. " Audition" by Michael Shurtleff is a great book to read, along with " The Art of film Acting" by Jeremiah Comey.
There is a lot of rejection that occurs in this business, doesn't matter who you are. It happens. How do you continuously stay motivated through the rough and slow months of no work?
This is the absolute hardest part of being an actor. I think it's important during the slow times to look back at how far I have come since I started this journey. It makes me proud of what I accomplished and motivates me to keep going to see how much further i can go. I use the slow times to take classes, get new head-shots. read new books, and do some networking as well.
What other opportunities have you been offered other than Acting work?
The biggest thing that surprised me after the Walking Dead was the fan following. With that, offers of making appearances at comic cons started coming. It has been a lot of fun. Also, doing interviews was a new opportunity that I started being offered around the same time.
What brand or type of character can you identify yourself with?
I have been lucky to play a variety of types so far, but I most identify with the "Mean Lady" type. I heard it is because I have intense eyes, because it sure doesn't match my personality!
What is your dream role to play?
I don't really have one certain dream role. I have been lucky to play a lot of great roles in the past and more coming up in the future. I would, however, love to get a chance to work on Supernatural, Stranger Things, or This is Us.
Which famous actor/actress would you like to work with?
Why I have a long list that I would love to work with, such as Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, and Leonardo Dicaprio. Any actors or actress who has a long career would be a great learning experience.
